These smaller ones like I have have accessories you can add to them. Cane/crutch/cold drink holders/baskets and more. When RR and I shop we separate and that sometimes causes a problem since my walker/transporter doesn't hold that much. I have to find him and put the stuff in the shopping cart, then go off again on my own. Then he meets me somewhere in the store and we leave. This makes for a lot of walking also. By the time we leave my right hip is painful and now the left one is also starting to hurt (the arthritis). Fortunately I have no pain at all when sitting. Today was the first time I went though a store not in pain from my hip, now both hips. It may be worth it for you to take a look at them.
And stores allow them for the disabled. They can't refuse you access.
I will still get walking exercise in the house and on my property. I still garden as much as I can. My son's been a great help there. Jane is also starting to show an interest in the garden and flowers. So I get exercise here at home. Maybe I'll get even more now that I wont wear myself out walking through the stores.
