If you can still manage to do the things you want to do without a scooter you have no real need for one. BTW, I love my walker/transporter with the basket and seat. I'll still use it for short trips to town to pick up a few items, but for anything else, when time and distance are involved, the scooter will be used.
When RR waits on line at the stores I can *sit* and wait for him. Being able to sit makes a difference for me too because I can't stand for long due to the really bad side.
I use a cane in the house to get around. I also use a cane to walk around the property. Or the smaller lighter walker outside. I don't think the scooter would work in here. But I'm far from being bedridden or unable to walk at all.
No indignity here. There are so many older people living in FL that we see scooters and walkers and those with canes all the time. I say more power to them! They're out of their homes and still part of the world.
