Re: Trump's compassion as a Rep, "Shoot them in the legs."
I never cared much about politics, one way or the other. Life went on pretty much the same regardless of who was in office. I didn't have a city job or belong to a union where registering as a Democrat was a must regardless if you wound up voting that way or not. I liked Bush, Jr. for some reason, more for his personality than his abilities probably, I thought he was a nice guy. It was during his administration that I first noticed how nasty and bullying the Democrats I knew could be. When Obama ran, my first thought was that he would be a role model for black boys. I wasn't a birther but I did wonder how he managed to climb so high so fast from his beginnings. When some of his early acquaintances were reported as questionable it gave pause and I didn't like Michelle's comment when she said she was never proud of her country until they elected her husband POTUS or something similar. Obama was personable and a smooth talker and I was lulled into complacency although he seemed to be overly invested in foreign interests rather than his own people here. I never liked Hillary going back to when she was First Lady and I didn't want to see her elected. The email scandal was frosting on the cake. I thought when Trump won, it would go back to pretty much the same old, same old. I never dreamed that almost 3 years in, we'd still be fighting every day and this crap would still be going on and getting worse.
