I had actually had a conversation with the hacker. I had gotten a message with a link from someone I mistook as someone I knew saying it was a "surprise". I messaged with a response asking what it was and they replied "a surprise" check it out. As soon as clicked on the link, I knew I'd been had but it was too late and something tried to prevent me from shutting down by controlling my mouse. I pulled the plug. When I started up again and tried to access AOL, there was a message to call them. I found out that they had hacked my password, gotten into my account and tried to change the password. AOL noticed the irregularity and shut the account down but they had gotten that far. Since I had actually reached the culprit, I reported it, but the person whose name I had claimed was that someone had hacked them as well. On Messenger, when someone is online it shows up and I followed the online time for that name for months since I wasn't sure their claim was valid.
