... we too it to the computer repair shop in Silver Springs. Running some kind of program on it, he hit the problem of two cursors and the LP going insane. I suspected the problem was worse than a simple virus. Someone managed to hack into my LP and take total control of it. When he/she wasn't online, my LP worked perfectly. When they got online and played, my LP went nuts. Also, he found evidence of past viruses. All he could do is wipe the HD clean and do a system Recovery plus update W-10 to the latest version with more recent safety features. Charge will be $100. I get it back tomorrow.
He was telling us about how the more sophisticated hackers can get into your PC just by going to a harmless website. Just clicking the url/link. That harmless website (cats, travel, homes for sale etc) can be hacked by one of these people without a life - and when someone clicks the link to go to that site, they get hacked. They can infect a lot of computers before they're seen by anti-scumware and kicked from the website.
Making a long story short. I ran 4 different anti-virus programs including ad aware - they all found nothing! This is the first time I've had my computer taken over by a hacker.
