People who must depend on public computers are at a great disadvantage. Entering sensitive information on a public computer, such as a DOB or SS number, is not a good idea.
I got my first computer in 2002. Before then, everything was done via USPS or the telephone. Now, 17 short years later, I can't imagine how I could have managed without a computer. Fortunately, computers have gotten less expensive. A low end laptop costs about $400, I guess, and the cost is getting more and more reasonable.
