If Greenland was for sale, it would be quite an acquisition. It's physiographical part of North America. Rich in natural resources, it's also our most northern military base. Only about 58,000 people actually live there and none owns property. Only about 20% is occupied. Both China and Russia would also like to acquire it and supposedly Trump's interest is from a security viewpoint. It's not a new idea..during Lincoln's administration when Seward acquired Alaska, he wanted Greenland too. It also came up during Truman's administration.
