OK, that's mostly clothing. But another example is the dishwasher I almost bought last night. I'd seen the Whirlpool online, all the features I wanted, on sale at Best Buy. A good price so I went to buy it.
I wanted it in black. They showed me the model in stainless steel. OMG! The front panel had two obvious dents below the handle, not damage but design, that made it look like it had been in an accident. I don't know if the black would have been so glaring, but no one stocks the black, so I can't see it. It looked so cheap and like someone had taken a hammer to it, or a small Volkwagen had hit it head on. I was really disappointed. No way did that show on the online photos.
I called my daughter to come look at it. When she got there I said pick out the ugliest one. She went right over to it! So it seems that's the end of that unless I can see it in black and it changes the look. Online shopping and reviewing is OK, but sometimes not.
