Re: Stuff Happens. Carol
Agree that the conditions in the containment area are terrible and I don't know how they'll overcome them with any rapidity with the flow as heavy as it's been. Imagine your place..you may have room to fit another two people in the MH and another two in the RV comfortably. You might even be able to add an air mattress or two in the sun room if necessary. Eight people could probably get by for a short time. Something happens in the area and your place is the only place to go You wind up having one hundred or more utilizing every space you have. How long before it became intolerable no matter how the 4 of you tried to provide for the 100? Every person contained has at least a minimum process to go through which takes time. Facilities have to be found to send the processed people to and they are all over-crowded too. If someone is sick, two border control people have to accompany them to the hospital and stay with them until they are released. It's a monumental task.
As far as drinking out of the toilet, never happened. I think the idea may have occurred through a language misunderstanding of the utility used. The standard inmate prison toilet consists of the toilet and above the water tank is a sink and water fountain. It looks something like this: https://binged.it/2JLKy7L
If you've never seen one, it's easy to see how someone directed to it for water might get the wrong impression.
