When my girls were young and single..I didn't encourage them to look for a guy in white collar work or a profession (not that it would be bad). I told them look for a man who's good with his hands. My experience has been that a "handyman" would always have work, someone always has something that needs to be done. A white collar worker might have a great job for a couple of years but things can change on a dime and usually at the wrong time.
