The girls' friend Joanne has been very ill. Cancer surgery, a stroke, a bad car accident (she was a passenger), now a surgery to put screws in her spine. Since the stroke, she can no longer work nor drive, and her living situation is far away, lonely and unhappy. My daughter asks about once a month if she can come for a few days, which always turns into a full week. I like Joanne, she's a bright gal, but the family dynamics changes when she's here that long, and it can create some problems.
Recently, a former roommate of my daughter's, when they lived in a 4-bedroom home, started to come around. He's now living nearby, he's very helpful when he's here, will spend some time with Mike, knows his place, and is a gentleman. He's had kidney stone problems lately, and last night he had the most painful attack while he was here. We had to rush him to the ER, he was practically crawling on the floor from pain, and they expected he'd be admitted.
I'm so tired of being involved with this one and that one. I tend to be a loner, but I have one daughter who's the hostess with mostest. I wish she'd stop.
