Most of mine have a sentimental value behind them or commemorate a trip or event. Many are original artist's works. I was never one to buy something just for decorative purposes, I wouldn't have trouble parting with those kind of things. I was looking at some Madam Alexander dolls I had bought for my daughters that never were played with but were on display. I have four. Betsy Ross, a Spanish dancer, an Indian in a sari and one I haven't found. In good condition, they are worth about $100-$150 each. They are not. Two of their bodies are fine, on two, the rubber band that held their movable legs to their bodies deteriorated and would need to be fixed. The costumes on the Spanish and Indian girls, which were beautiful, have faded drastically. They are not even in good enough to condition to give to some little girl and yet I can't throw them away.
