Here's an interesting fact that some might know but others not. In the past, An American born woman lost her citizenship if and when she married someone from another country. I wondered why, when I searched genealogy records, that my American born grandmother had to be naturalized. Found it was because her citizenship was taken away when she married my Ukrainian-born grandfather, and only given back when he was naturalized. Imagine that! That law didn't change until the '40s.
It didn't work the other way. Men could marry foreign women and did not lose their citizenship.
