Re: To the top = Re: The airport part #2 - Elle
We are very close to becoming a nation of haves and have-nots. Surely you've heard or read that the middle class is vanishing. My son and his SO were paying $1700 (I think it recently went up to $1800) a month for a small one bedroom apt in Richmond Hill. A three bedroom was only a dream for most people in the area. It's sad when rents are so high (add utilities, carfare etc) that people are financially strangled just trying to live in a decent place. Anything new being built in the city are luxury apts. Nothing for the middle and lower middle class. Then you have the roach infested ghetto places where no sane rational person would choose to live unless hopelessly desperate - and poor. Real sh*t holes exist here in the USA.
I don't see how these aliens can afford to live in the cities unless they double and triple up. Or they have a good trade - some skill that pays well.
In keeping up with RVs and MHs... sales are doing well. They're so much more affordable than a house or nice apt to live in. Most 5th wheels and travel-trailers are nicer than most apts I've seen in NYC. I can see why people choose to live in them.
