L.A.'s home prices, already ridiculous, are fluctuating only slightly up and down, but my sister's home in Arizona has doubled in the last two years. Great for her, but not so great for my niece, who just sold her home in Bakersfield and bought in Arizona close to her mother. I will have no immediate family any more in SoCal. It's amazing how certain eras come to a close, permanent and final.
