Right now we don't know if my son will take over the lawn care or if we'll keep paying Lloyd. He offered but they're so busy settling in and job hunting through some Ocala agency I don't want to bother them. Today they took the late afternoon off and went to a local river beach to relax. They really need it. They'll be back in time to help make supper for all of us. Tonight they're making grilled burgers with caramelized vidalia onions and Grilled turkey wing center parts. I'll be making a large pot of summer squash and the salad.
Where I live is like nothing I ever heard of or seen before. The original owner of this land, inside the ONF, decided to develop a place for those who wanted an affordable place to live. He had the property divided into lots 1/4 acre or more. It was all wooded natural land. Every lot perked and had water available. He allowed MHs only to keep it affordable. He had no rules other than that. MHs only. That was back in 1982 if I remember right. So every lot is different. Some keep their places nice with old original MHs from the 80s. Other lots have new double or single wides. The roads were never paved. They're packed sand mostly. We all chipped in and had the section coming west paved with crushed limestone that is like cement after awhile. My road is packed sand and didn't need amending. Everyone is responsible for their own lots. Only one section in here is not where I would want to live due to the visuals.
It's really sad to see how many places in here are abandoned. The original owners pass away (not all were snowbirds) and the places are going to seed and rot. Some of the MHs are beyond any kind of repair.
Of course this is just what we wanted so quickly had a garage built, 2 outbuildings added and the green houses and the 5' fence installed. Only the garage needed a permit from the county.
