A President doesn't make laws, Congress does. He can push for support on issues he feels strongly about or veto the things he doesn't like. He can issue Executive Orders but they only remain valid as long as he is in office, not challenged in the courts or not taken down by a succeeding President. Each candidate's platform centers on national issues that are either public, party affiliation or personal concerns. It normally does not filter down to specifics that are under State control.
Today, Dennis's concerns are on the impact of Immigration, both legal and illegal, treatment of the vets and the homeless and the cost of healthcare. He cares about the environment but doesn't get into climate control theories. He is against socialism and for capitalism.
