When I started working at that AH in Elmhurst all my co-workers were Americans. None stayed for long. There was a constant turnover. After a few years, no one even replied to the ower's add in the newspapers but a few immigrants who barely spoke English. What was he to do? Rohas (don't know how he spelled it) was one of the best workers we ever had there. Nothing grossed him out. He was very kind and gentle with the animals. He learned English over time, was never late or a no-show. As far as I know he was there to the bitter end when the hosp closed.
Personally I don't know why anyone would travel to the USA to pick veggies for a few weeks, then go home. Traveling alone would cost more than they made in those few weeks.
