And hiring more help to speed up their entry? We can't have all that want to come here do so. We can't become "Their Country North." Will they risk deportation for a measly welfare check and food. You betcha. First she says they're starving in their home country, that's why they come here, then she says they'll starve here rather than seek aid. I wish she'd make up her mind. And by the way, you are so right about them being emboldened. They already know so much about what to do. Those millions before them have secured the way. I guess in the backwaters of this country they either don't see them, or see them as we do. They are historically at home here. This was Alta California.
The wall may just be Trump's monument to himself if there are ways to get around it. Our laws hamstring us. They should be changed. I believe they must be stopped at the border. Immigration quotas must be respected. I do agree with her that we need to e-verify employment and housing and what-all. That's if we were serious, which we don't seem to be.
I had an interview in the 60s with the principal of my son's elementary school after he was involved in a fight with another boy. I gave the reasons he was involved, which were valid reasons. The principal said regardless, there was a No Fighting rule, which the boys broke. One must respect what is. He said that every morning he looks in the mirror and sees that he is Japanese. No matter how he might like to change that fact, it is what is. And the rule of the school is what it is, regardless of circumstances, No Fighting.
