That includes doctors. I once saw a doctor from China when I had Kaiser many years ago, because my heart felt flippy. He examined me and said "you heart is rrrrrregular." I said, I'm sorry, did you say irregular? He repeated rrrrrregular, you heart is rrrrrrregular. Is OK.
The way he said regular and irregular sounded exactly the same. It was only when he said it was OK that I figured I'd go with that, it probably meant my heart was OK. But from just his pronunciation, I would never have known.
