Maybe you can explain how they came to the conclusion there was no obstruction?

My best years were the 70s. We all have "best years." Someone else your age would choose the 50s or maybe the 90s depending on where they were in life, who they were married to, if they were financially secure in a job they liked etc.
The 80s were far from my best years as I tried to adapt to life in a very small town where everyone was totally different than I was. Isolation loneliness and boredom were the worst things I had to deal with. So you see what one person's best years were could be another person's worst years.
They way Lynch phrased it it came across to me like the 50s, not the free wheeling 80s - a time of drugs, promiscuity and growing numbers of single mothers. We still have that now so I'm sure he didn't mean the 80s.
