Re: Excited - Carol
I actually didn't bowl until my twenties. The neighborhood bowling alley (a good one, it hosted the PBA on tour yearly) had a nursery for the little ones. Mothers could get out and have some fun while the kiddies were safely cared for. Win, win. Elle reminded me that I, too, roller skated and ice skated. I played PAL softball and dodgeball in the afterschool programs. I had my own glove and played hardball with the boys until they had enough for a team; then they kicked me out! I was elected Girls Student Athletic Director in the 9th grade at Seth Low Junior High. That's how I met and spent the day with Jackie Robinson when he visited our school.
That reminds me. Today is Jackie Robinson's 100th birthday. All the Dodgers will be wearing #42 tonight. The family will be in the stands. Game starts at 7 p.m. Pacific Daylight Time.
