When we started out, we weren't looking for anything like we wound up with but with each obstacle the anti was raised. First it was just a mobile home. They are much more reasonable in the area that Carol is in but a trek to get anywhere. Our location immediately raised the prices. I had a couple of beautiful mobile homes on my list here as well but the increased prices made out-of-the-pocket investment prohibitive. Banks will not loan anything on a mfr. home unless they are less than 10-15 years old. The ones I was looking at, although mint and updated were older. A new one would need all the add-ons that people have added over the years and we didn't want a leased land situation most of which exceeded $600/mo. Next obstacle was keeping a pet. Most of the more reasonable didn't allow them. Maggie fits all of the requirements of those that do. Under 20 lbs and not a noisy animal who would be difficult to keep unobtrusive. I was not about to sacrifice her for a place in the sun. This place is in a desirable location, nestled off from main roads with most of the stores I'd most likely want to use within a couple of miles. There are several Publix within easy reach depending on the direction traveling. Among the familiar, Home Depot, CVS, Marshalls, TJMaxx, Walmart, Chili's and Outback. Several Chinese and pizza places close by with many establishments I don't recognize to explore. If we want something a little special for breakfast, we found a great place nearby.
