I'm having difficulty getting over this virus what with my immune system still not back to normal. It's taking longer than usual this time. I'm glad that 6 month round of Carbo-Taxol is over with. All I'm on now is Tamoxifen tablets and Avastin infusions every 3 weeks. I see the Dr or the ONP every month. So far so good.
As soon as I'm over this bug we're going down to Longboat key for the day in the RV. There are beautiful beaches there with plenty of free parking. Then we'll set up the RV for my son and his SO to live in until they find jobs and a place of their own.
Nothing exciting going on around here. We had the last big cookout of the season as a bon voyage for all those snow bird friends and neighbors heading north this month. Over 40 people came. Kiki who runs these cookouts was thrilled and in all her glory. As soon as it hits the 90s she and her husband pack up their RV and head for Flagler beach on the ocean. It'll be like a ghost town with only us diehards left to the steamy FL summer.
Murphy, the last stray cat to show up has been vetted by a rescue which cost me nothing. It's some kind of TNR program we donate to. He lives outside with Bootzie. With his nuggets gone and no longer driven by testosterone he doesn't leave the property. He's still getting over the last big fight with another cat about 2 weeks ago. He's pretty shabby looking and has a large scab on his head. He's a sweetie though so we'll let him live out there and care for him.
I'm skipping my yearly trip to TN this summer. RR is going up for 2 weeks which is too much for me. It's in the 90s there in June, July, Aug and most of Sept. I can't cope with 2 weeks of sitting indoors. Last summer we didn't stay the full 2 weeks. He'll go alone. This way he can visit all his family up there without me getting bored and antsy. I have nothing in common with any of them, nice country people that they are.
Today I have laundry to catch up on. With my bad hip I'm using the dryer. I still dry the blankets and quilts on the line. RR carries them down and back up for me. RR has to spray the house with the IGR hormone spray since FL is the flea capitol of the world. It's an unending battle.
Back on Atkins I lost 10 lbs last month.
That's about all that's new here.
