The Chippewa Valley Grouse Dog Association is proud to announce the 2026 Wisconsin Cover Dog Champion is Berg Brothers Hatchet, handled by Lindsey Peterson, owned and scouted by Colin Peterson. The Runner Up is Lake Effect Ali, owned and handled by Tim Kaufman.

Its was an exciting couple of days in the woods, and competitive braces all around!

We want to thank Purina Pro Plan and Scheels for sponsoring the trial. A special thank you to Brian Stichter, Denny Baumann, and Sean Lein for providing lunch on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Thank you Rod Lein and Ben Mergens for chairing the trial with support from Roger King.

Our judges Bill Holtan and Jeff Keller did an outstanding job walking a total of 20 braces in pouring rain, frost, and sunshine.
