The Ruffed Grouse Field Trial Club had their annual membership meeting this weekend. After discussion and input from members it was voted on and passed that the Michigan Woodcock Championship will be moved to the spring.
This does NOT affect this year’s championship. It will still be held in October as scheduled.
Starting the Spring of 2026 we will hold the championship again. Then in the fall of 2026 we will just hold a weekend trial.

The field trial season runs Fall/Spring. A championship is supposed to only be run once per season. You’d be running that championship twice in the same season making the spring 2026 trial ineligible for any points. The American Field did not recognize the same championship twice in one field trial season. If ran this fall it should be run again in the spring of 2027. You’d miss the calendar year 2026 but the trial would run during the 2025/26 season and the 2026/27 season.
