    Amateur Grouse Championship Activities

    If you haven't seen the running order, here it is.


    We'll meet both mornings at the parking lot on Hannah Furnace road just off Rt 322 east of Philipsburg: 40.85180, -78.15208

    Saturday after we finish the 4th brace, we'll head to my back yard for a picnic sponsored by the Black Moshannon club; hot dogs, burgers, and drinks. For dinner we'll have sausage sandwiches. I'm asking everyone to bring a light covered dish and a lawn chair.

    Saturday we'll have pulled pork at a park pavilion along with the winners announcement. The Purina dinner will be at 5 pm at St Paul's UMC in Sandy Ridge. Any questions reach out to me.

      Day 2 and the winners

      All 4 courses showed birds again today, but a cold 50 degree rain hampered good dog work. We finished the day with 2 clean dogs, plus 2 Woodcock finds on the call back.

      Winner was Sid with George Hetrick. Runner-up was Meg with Joe Coglaizer.

      Special thanks to the judges along with our car movers, Dick and George.

        2 clean dogs after day 1

        All 4 courses showed multiple birds, grouse were seen on 3 courses
