Judges Bruce Mueller (L) & John McKellop (R). With 13 drawn for the Open Derby stake, the winners were: 1st place Scott Forman with Queenie, 2nd place Marc Forman with Sal, & Greg Fried taking 3rd place with his Jax. Again, congratulations!

Although the 2nd day's weather was tough on the dogs, with snow, high winds at times, & very cold, the 2 day, 16 dog unofficial rough bird count was 2 Grouse & 23 Woodcock. Some great dog work, great people,superb lunches provided by the Ralph family, & lots of good camaraderie made for a fun trial. I'd like to thank our judges for all their efforts, time, & opinions. And, thank you to all of the handlers who braved the weather for this trial. Also, I'd especially like to thank the Black Ash club members that do all of the work to make this happen! Many thanks to the Black Ash crew and the judges that braved the weather. This is my favorite trial of the year. Plenty of birds and friends every year. The only brace I got to walk in the Classic was the winning brace in brutal conditions. Congrats to all the winners and thanks to the judges for all their attention in ugly conditions.
As usual, lunches were excellent. Its worth entering a dog just for the pulled pork lunch, hopefully the chili was just as good on Sunday.
