Am I the only one that misses when all the trial ads and draw announcements were being posted here? Seems like everyone has moved to Facebook but there are so many pages on FB to try and follow. I feel like it was easier when there was just one place to look.
There is still "just one place to look". It is called The American Field. It has been there for over 100 yrs. Another idea is that if this is something you and others want, join together and do it. If not that then actually join a club, become the Secretary and knock yourself posting anything you want anywhere you want. Don't wait for some other guy to do it. Some other guy did it for years. Maybe now it's your turn to step up.
Guess you don’t know me. I have been the president of a club from almost 10 years so I think I have “stepped up.” I have never seen a draw posted in the field, perhaps you can show me where they do that?
This chat room format has it's uses. However most of us who did post such information here found our ability to control and present such information wanting. I posted here for years as well as on our club's Facebook page. There I could keep the most important information right up top, front and center for those who needed it. Here, anything posted get's buried pretty quickly. Also the format for posting and uploading photos or files here is involved and time consuming compared to Facebook. I'm not sure of others who have stopped posting much here but I am able to keep the entire New England / Region #1 Updated and more completely informed in 1/10th of the time it would take me to do the same here and I have 2 of my own Facebook pages, "Setter Club Of New England" for which I am the Secretary and "Region #1 AFTCA & Assn, NE field trial clubs" of which I am also the Secretary and "Northeastern Field trials" which I keep updated as an administrator.
Oh and if you think you are at risk of having your ID compromised on facebook, you are misinformed. To the contrary Here on this chat room you are at greater risk. See those pop ups that cover the screen? Go ahead, touch on the "Agree" or "Open" icon and watch what happens. If you do shut down your computer immediately or you will be hacked or scammed.
I was at my first trial of the year and was expressing this issue. A gentleman printed out three venues for me and handed them to me on day two. Yearly schedule for Gladwin, Highland, Ionia in Michigan. It also provides the schedule for all training, testing, etc.
