    Congratulations to Grand Champion Double Deuce Zeke, handled by Dave Hughes and owned by Doug McMillen; and to Runner-Up Champion Out of the Shadows, handled by Bob Wheelock and owned by Bob and Diane Wheelock. Judges Craig Merlington and Chad Wheeler. Congratulations to all and thank you to all those who helped to make this a success.

      CONGRATULATIONS, Kudos, and heaps of praise and thanks to Dave, Doug, Bob & Diane, Zeke & Maddie for their superlative performances; Craig and Chad for their excellent judgement; Tom and the Beaverton Club for being great, organized hosts, Denise P. for her close attention and reporting, Woody for managing, all the handlers who entered and ran---making this a quality, competitive Grand, and all the others who helped move things along. Always an honor to run and be associated in some small way with such a class act.

        Congratulations to the owners, Doug McMillen and Bob and Diane Wheelock, dedicated grouse trial folks all. But I must "Tip my cap" to the handler of the winner, Hall of Fame member, Dave Hughes on his 14th Grand National win, that is an amazing accomplishment, done over 43 years, won multiple times in all three regions over 4 different sets of grounds! I don't think that will ever be duplicated. Ted Williams hitting 406 in 1941, Cal Ripken's consecutive game streak of 2,632 and Dave Hughes 14 Grand National are record's that will likely never be broken!
