2024-2025 Michigan Coverdogs of the Year
The five Michigan Coverdog clubs run 12 grouse and woodcock trials every season. Seasons run from August thru the Spring of the following year. Three standing Championships run each fall, The Michigan Woodcock Championship, The Northern Michigan Coverdog Championship and we finish the fall season with the oldest of all, The Lake States Grouse Championship. The balance of the 12 trials are weekend events running all three classes of field trial stakes, puppy, derby and shooting dog. For dogs to qualify for any of the awards they must run in a minimum of three events and place in a minimum of 2 events. Points are awarded by a dog’s placement and the number of dogs entered in the event. The more entries, the more points awarded.
