I will not be predicting multiple consecutive championships , as that doesnt come true when someone makes such a claim. I will also refuse to sit tight and rest on this seasons accomplishments. This league is too competitive and has too many strong teams to believe things will automatically fall into place again without work.
I want to acknowledge our Director of player development and vice president of player acquisition, Pete Heublinks who without his input, we would not have had the success we did this hear. Many trades and draft picks worked out and made vital contributions in our historic run.
On the way we "slayed the dragon" and knocked off the Florida Headhunters. Then we took on another "blue blood" franchise in the Chicago Wildcats , in what can only be described as probably the most exciting amd competitive World Series in the history of the CJIBL.
Last draft, I was told "you shouldn't hand the trophy to Nick because you will jinx yourself, yiu dont touch the trophy before you win it or you will never win it ". We'll, no offense to the jinx, but we dont believe in them.
Here is to a great off-season, an active trading period, and hope everyone is ready for a shark themed draft in March!
