Draft Day Grades 2024:

Bedstuy:
Decent value on their picks with two Mets prospects looking towards the future. Needed another OF and backup SS but didn't address those needs.
Grade: B- Value Pick: 3 Orioles SP Gamble Pick: CF Jung Hoo Lee with 13th overall selection very having played in MLB.

California:
Mixture of MLB ready players and young prospects. Jack Suwinski 8th overall was an early selection. Needed better SP that wasn't drafted.

Chicago:
Solid selections all around. Addressed CF need, drafted co-closer Hunter Harvey to pair with Finnegan, solid backup 3B Paredes, and top Pirates SP Mitch Keller.

Colorado:
Drafted all young prospects but not a lot of help for the 2024 roster. RP Yuki Matsui needs to close, should have drafted the handcuff to go with him but passed on that solution.

Connecticut:
Addressed Cf Need, got his Mariners pitchers to pair with his others. Got a 3B prospect that was needed. Did well enough with the 8 picks.

Florida:
Drafted needs OF Langford fits well and young prospects for the future in Salas, Sasaki, and Kuntz. Didn't address 3B unless Brady House is the answer.

Harlem:
Filled some needs RP Alzolay, CF Duran, two 2B Stott, Julien. Could have gotten #1 2B McLain but chose 3B Burger instead, who should help but probably could have gotten both in the draft.

Indiana:
With only 6 picks, didn't address glaring RP need. Drafted two young OF and 1B for the future, and two RP. Needed more.

Louisianna:
Didn't fill #1 need OF but got a couple young prospects. Got Kimbrel handcuff, and two utility infielder players with only 8 picks.

Matawan:
With all those high draft picks, did an excellent job setting up his team overall for the future. Top 4 picks were the gems of the draft. Got backup C Heim in 5th round was solid as well.

Morris County:
With only 8 picks, did well to try and fill needs. SP Andrew Abbott filled need but then flipped for Cease with draft capital for 2025. RP Miller and Lawrence should start as closers or set up men.

Topeka:
Solid draft filling needs and getting value all around, along with young prospects for future. Filled 2B need McLain, starting SS Neto until Lawlwer is ready.
