Noah Syndergaard (elbow) threw four shutout innings in his rehab debut Wednesday afternoon with High-A St. Lucie.
Syndergaard reportedly sat 93-95 mph with his fastball while yielding just one hit and striking out five. It really couldn't have gone much better. The 28-year-old right-hander figures to make 3-4 more appearances on the farm before becoming an option for the Mets' starting rotation sometime in early June. He is just about 15 full months removed from his Tommy John reconstructive elbow surgery in late March 2020.
