King Charles met with Canada's Governor General designate, Mme Louise Arbour, on June 3 at Buckingham Palace and appointed her extraordinary Commander of the Order of Military Merit and Commander of the Order of Merit of the Police Forces.

Her installation was held in Ottawa on June 8th. The Great Seal of the Realm of Canada presented to her was a new one to reflect the reign of Charles III.

Mme Arbour has had an illustrious career including Justice of the Supreme Court of Canaada and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.
