The British Royals Message Board: Re: The late Duchess of Kent is moved to Westminster Cathedral

I was surprised to see prince Michael of Kent in a wheelchair but I really liked seeing the Prince and Princess of Wales stepping aside to make sure prince Michael who was pushed in his chair by lord Frederick had a good view of the proceedings. The Prince of Wales also greeted lady Gabriella. It must have been a difficult day for her. Even though her aunt had a full and complete life this funeral must have reminded her of her husband's whose life was cut short way too early.William showed his kind and generous nature and both he and Catherine made sure the kIng was not alone. I have not seen the full service but I did see lady Helen and lord Nicholas exchange a short conversation and smile that made me think they were pleased about how things had gone.
I did not see Lord Nicholas' wife is she ill or was there another reason why she did not attend her mother-in-law's funeral?

This afternoon I walked over to Westminster Cathedral, to watch the arrival of mourners. I was quite surprised by the size of the crowd . We were kept back at a large distance. I was there at 115, the Requiem Mass was scheduled for 2pm. I saw ( from a distance ) everyone arrive . It was very touching to see the Duke of Kent arrive on the arm of his daughter,Lady Helen Taylor . Lady Sarah Chstto arrived with one son ( that I saw) also her brother with his daughter. I saw Michael of Kent with his wife but did not see Pss Alexandra . Pr Andrew arrived with his ex wife to an audible “ it’s Andrew “ from the crowd , he was followed by the Pss Royal and Tim Lawrence , then the Prince and Princess of Wales and finally HMTK.

Tomorrow I shall go to the Cathedral ( I live about a 25 min walk away ) around 115pm and stand outside . I hope to see the RF and extended RF arrive.
