Exchange of orders for the French State Visit:

HM The Queen received the Légion d'honneur, Grand Cross.

HRH The Prince of Wales received the Légion d'honneur, Grand Officer.

HRH The Princess of Wales received the National Order of Merit, Grand Officer.

During the State Banquet, The Queen wore the sash of the Légion d'honneur without that star but with her Garter star, and the RFO on the wrong side. The Prince of Wales wore the star on the incorrect side without the ribbon for that rank (probably technically correct because he wore minatures?) The Princess of Wales wore the rosette on her RVO sash, and no CH insignia. All seems a little slopppy. Surely the correct insignia could have been prepared in advance for the three of them.
