That's an interesting chart showing the surviving families and entities across the city, but also what's notable there is the decline in many cases of actual size of the holdings - frequently from 250 acres to just 20 acres - which reduced size represents Iperhaps just one city block? The Grosvenors seem to be the exception to that, and have held on to most of their acreage. I'm much less familiar personally from the past with Belgravia and more aware of the area known as Bloomsbury, which is the general area where the Dukes of Bedford had and still have some remaining property. Probably, with just 20 acres remaining, some of the place names such as Bedford Square, or Russell Square, or Tavistock Square, are no longer in his hands. Death duties and a high tax bracket caused them to let go of much.  Previous Message
