I didn't say that did I? Morocco was a French and Spanish protectorate.I merely mentioned the fact that also among the commonwealth nations there were and still are plenty of unsavoury types as rulers and we seldom hear critical notes when the royals are visiting there. Previous Message
I don't think Morocco is a member of the Commonwealth but I may be out of date on that? The Commonwealth has certain standards for membership regarding internal democratic/human rights being present, not sure Morocco qualifies or is even interested in joining. Previous Message
The BRF has a long and proud tradition of mingling with the odd despot here and there especially when they belong to the family of commonwealth nations. No shockers there. The King of Morocco is an absent landlord living of the rent of his 'tenants' in Paris. Not the kind of chap you want to have mint tea and a photo opt with.
