The list does not include any important names related to the royal family or the court. Some minor courtiers have received lower grades of the Royal Victorian Order, as is normal.
Surprisingly, no awards for services to prepare for the coronation or contributions during that day. Since there was no coronation honours list, I had expected some of the participants to be honoured in this list.
The only noble I can spot in the list is
Order of the British Empire (OBE):
- Camilla Anne, Countess of Halifax. Lately President, Macmillan Cancer Support. For voluntary services to People Affected by Cancer.
The Countess of Halifax is the formed Camilla Younger, of the Scottish brewing family, who married in 1976 Charles Edward Peter Neil Wood, 3rd Earl of Halifax. The live at his family estate Garrowby Hall, and have two children. Interestingly, she is also the former wife of Richard Parker Bowles (married in 1973 and divorced in 1976), a younger brother of Andrew Parker Bowles, first husband of Queen Camilla. Thus the Countess of Halifax is the formed sister-in-law of the present Queen.
