I believe the late queen had 4 pages to carry her robe for the opening of parliament. I know that is the crimson robe but the purple one would not be that much longer meaning four pages should suffice.
Im wondering if a separate robe of state is made for Camilla, she'll need it for the next opening of parliament if she continues the tradition to only wear the purple robe for the coronation.
That was my first thought, Nellie. Perhaps shorter and lighter in weight?
I don't like the idea of historic robes of a King regnant and a Queen regnant being "reduced" that much. Shall have to wait and see.
