I was surprised that the Countess of Airlie DCVO wasn't made a GCVO in the demise honours list, having been a lady of the bedchamber since 1973. She received her DCVO in 1995, surely a promotion would have neen warranted.
I was pleased to see that the previous Lord Great Chamberlain was promoted to GCVO, having received his KCVO in 2007.
