I have seen some people claim that by granting the style of HRH and the title of Prince/Princess of the United Kingdom to all of the children of the then Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and not doing the same for the future children of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, meant her silence on the status of the future children of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex somehow voided the 1917 Letters Patent where the title of Prince or Princess of the United Kingdom was granted to the grandchildren of the sovereign in the male line, without actually having to issue Letters Patent repealing that part of 1917 Letters Patent.
I'm not so sure about that part. But it does seem like the sovereign's words are sufficient. I don't believe the sovereign's silence on a subject is sufficient for change.
I very much doubt it. Since the announcement in the speech William is now accepted as The Prince of Wales.
