I've never thought much about this issue of cyphers so on this occasion it made wonder if once a cypher is given to a consort, it remains as designed forever? For instance, thinking of the late Queen Mother's cypher - did hers change from the time she was Queen Consort to the years she spent as Queen Mother? I realise that I may be "overthinking" what isn' an issue at all really, since the designation was "ER" and in this case "CR", and no additiona letter referring to "consort" or "mother".
