I found odd that the hearse used in Scotland would have been a german Mercedes.
Although car manufacters are no longer what they were decades ago, the Queen always drove british cars ... or makes related to Britain or built in the UK.
Those icons of british industry like Rolls-Royce or Bentley that we were used to see the Queen being driven in nowadays belong to german BMW (R-R) and Volkswagen (Bentley).
The Queen's beloved Range Rovers and Land Rovers belong to the indian group Tata.
As well as Jaguar, the manufacturer of tht hearse that brought the Queen home to BP - redesigned by an english firm, als part of Tata group.
I can't remember ever seeing the Queen ever driving or being driven in a non-british manufacturer in the UK
But seeing the Mercedes hearse in Scotland, I repeat, was a bit strange,
Wasn't a british hearse available for such a special occasion ?
