Night 1: 8 first round matches with a 20 minute time limit contested under gentleman's agreement, referee's discretion rules.
1. Adam Priest vs Daniel Makabe
Your 2021 New South HOSS Tournament winner vs your defending 2019 SCI Winner(There was no 2020 tournament). This will be hard-hitting and technical. Priest has the grit, determination, and ability to upset the reigning champion. Makabe will try to show why he is called, "The Wrestling Genius."
2. Alex Kane vs 1 Called Manders
MLW and American Top Team's newest signee Kane, who was trained by independent star AR Fox, will look to run up the suplex count against Manders - the 2019 Action Futures Showcase champion, a former Iowa Hawkeye football player trained by WWE star Seth Rollins. These guys are both freakishly athletic powerhouses who are early in their careers. Manders may have a slight advantage due to experience but Kane has been killing the competition lately.
3. Cabana Man Dan vs Jeremy Wyatt
These are two veterans of their regions who are widely respected as technical masterminds who aren't afraid to punch someone in the face if needed. Each of these guys has aged like fine wine and with approximately 20 years of experience each, this will be a dramatic display of psychology, mat wrestling, and two champion wrestlers that have no intention of quitting or tapping out to the other.
4. Brett Ison vs Jaden Newman
Ison lives his moniker of "Kill or Be Killed" and is the current TWE Heavyweight champion. Newman is TWE's favorite son who has recent trips across the Central and Eastern United States to his name. These two have a respect and a history with training together at Kerry Awful's CRUX Wrestling and will look to represent the immediate region in the second round with a victory here. Ison is an athletic brawler who will try to counter the well-rounded style of the smaller Newman, who will want to avoid going hit for hit with the more powerful man.
5. Jon Davis vs Logan Creed
Davis is a former NWA World Tag Team Champion with Dark City Fight Club and is one of the most respected and legitimate guys in professional wrestling. Creed is an MLW signee that is one of the most athletic big men in all of professional wrestling. This will be a war with atomic bombs. Each of these guys possesses power and athleticism that makes them both extremely dangerous and evenly matched. The rest of the field will look on with thankfulness, knowing at least one of these competitors will not be advancing to the second round.
6. AC Mack vs BEEF
Mack is a loud-mouthed competitor that has won championships almost everywhere he has gone. He paces opponents with very intentional attacks and mind games but also busts out impressive, quick, and sometimes aerial offense, reminding his opponents he's also a trainee of AR Fox and can keep up with anyone. BEEF is a wrecking ball of insanity. He is a brick wall that kicks into a high and dangerous gear that destroys everything in its path. Mack better get his talking out of the way before the match because one slip up will see him flattened by BEEF.
7. Daniel Garcia vs Graham Bell
This match will be all business. Garcia is heralded as one of the best wrestlers in the world and will look to prove that to an entirely new audience and region. Bell has exploded into the Southeast as a hard-hitting, smack-talking mercenary that has wrestled in 4 countries in the last couple of years. Bell still may be the guy in the tournament with the most to prove - which may actually give him a slight advantage since he's familiar with the arena and has more tape to study on this hard-hitting technical opponent, as well as most of the rest of the field.
8. Arik Royal vs Derek Neal
This is yet another first time match up in this tournament that may never be seen anywhere else due to the similarities of Royal and Neal in how they see the fans and see themselves. Each is a card carrying member of their own fan club but both are also extremely dangerous, big bodied veteran wrestlers who can back up every word they say with ability and toughness. This will be an epic psychological battle with Royal, the current Action champion, vs Neal, the current New South champion. This is a rare chance to see two of the kings of the Southeastern scene squaring off. The winner of this will likely be a favorite to win the entire tournament.
Night 2:
The 8 winners will face off in second round matches that will be announced at the end of night one. The 4 winners of those second round matches will face each other in a 4 way final elimination match to crown the 2021 SCI Champion.
Competitors from night 1 who did not advance will also be in action against some fun surprises or perhaps each other.
Finally, we have the SCI Scramble Match. The winner of this match is eligible to enter the tournament if there is no clear winner in a first round match or if a first round winner is unable to move to the second round.
The 2021 Scramble participants are:
Ashton Starr
Bobby Flaco
Damyan Tangra
Kevin Ryan
Orion Bishop
+ The winner of the 2021 Action Futures Showcase Tournament
