But this stuff, I was reading the thread on the Wrestling Classics message board, and some there floated a theory that this was taped for blackmail, and was never really intended to air, just to scare, especially the possible future installments threatened at the end of it. Looks to me like they thought maybe they could just burn the whole thing down with this expose, or at least really hurt it, but it wouldn't have. Everybody knew pro wrestling was fake in 1979, hell they knew it in 1929. The only ones who didn't know were little kids, mentally handicapped people, and maybe a few old immigrants. Sure, people got caught up in it watching it, but the public knew it was fake, that was common knowledge. It is fascinating though, there's no business quite like pro wrestling, and the attitudes of those in it are amazing, both in great and terrible ways.
