The Scenic City Trios event returns to Hixson High School with a one night tournament featuring 8 teams competing and some additional attraction matches.
This event will benefit the Hixson High School football team and occur on November 17, 2018 at Hixson High School. Belltime is 7:30pm and doors will open at 6:30pm with those that have already bought tickets getting first choice of seating. Floor seating is $15 and General admission bleacher seating is $10. Tickets can be purchased by contacting DylanWaco@Gmail.com
Hixson High School football coach and all around hoss Gary Murray, who has some professional wrestling training from Jimmy Golden in his past, is open to all challengers for both a pep rally the day before and for the night of the tournament. Wrestler Aiden Wright has issued a challenge for Coach Murray to try to break his "Aiden Lock" Full Nelson hold and Murray is expected to respond to the challenge at TWE in Red Bank on November 10.
Also in action as an exciting featured singles match will be 2018 Scenic City Invitational Scramble winner AC Mack taking on 2018 Scenic City Invitational finalist and Midwest standout Gary Jay.
The eight teams in the tournament are as follows:
1) Team Action - Cam Carter, Fred Yehi, Slim J. Action Wrestling has exploded onto the scene and onto Powerbomb TV as the brainchild of Matt Griffin. Carter is an explosive high flyer who has been impressing at Chikara. Yehi just returned from a tour of England. Slim J has been blowing it up all over Georgia and North Carolina with some of the best matches of the year. Will three individual superstars be able to work as a team to overcome whatever challengers come their way?
2) Team WWA4 - AR Fox's trainees impress everywhere they go. Lee Johnson, James Bandy, and Ashton Starr are no exception. Johnson is a rare combination of technical and high flying wrestler. Bandy recently scored a win over MJF. Starr has a variety of impressive appearances and experience with different opponents and match types. Can they leverage their mutual training and friendships to win it all?
3) The Carnies - Nick Iggy, Kerry Awful, and Tripp Cassidy are set for their 2nd tournament. Iggy and Awful just appeared on WWE's Hardy Halloween special and Tripp continues to be a dominant force wherever he goes. Iggy and Awful have had some miscommunications lately though so we'll see if they can hold it together to pick up the big win.
4) Team Futures(aka Team Now) - David Ali, Ike Cross, and Alan Angels. Talk about three guys who have really come onto the "scene". Ali and Angels are guys who both impressed at the Scenic City Futures event and that can be seen more and more places each month. Cross was handpicked as Kyle Matthews' replacement in the 2018 SCI this year - impressing everyone with his athletic ability and hybrid style of speed and power. They've renamed themselves Team NOW, will the 2018 Trios Tournament be their time to stand above every other team?
5) Team Iron Elbows - Brett Ison, Curt Stallion, and O'Shay Edwards. They're without a doubt the biggest and meanest team in the tournament. Ison has Stallion have each held gold at Southern Underground Pro, while Edwards has entered the picture there as a force to be reckoned with as well. Will anyone be able to overcome this violent team or will they destroy everyone in their paths?
6) Team Southern Underground Pro - AJ Gray, Kevin Ku, and Marko Stunt as individuals have put as many or more miles under their belts this year in the name of wrestling than any other team in the tournament. Gray picked up a win over 2 Cold Scorpio in this year's SCI, Ku was a Futures finalist, and Marko Stunt won the Futures tournament and has been at every big event in professional wrestling since August. Will their drive push them to the top of the tournament?
7) Team T.A.G. - Billy Buck, Chris Spectra, and Kevin Blue have proven themselves as one of the most cohesive and established trios in the Southeast over the last year, that's willing to do whatever it takes to win. All have held singles gold and they've won their fair share of tag championships as well. Will their ability to work together and corner cutting cunningness result in a Trios championship?
8) Team Nova - Logan Easton LaRoux, Wheeler YUTA, and Isaiah Frazier are three of the most talented wrestlers you'll find up the Eastern coastal states. The three of them have held and competed for major championships throughout the last couple of years and on November 17, they'll look to come together to pool that talent in an effort to take the trophy home to the Virginia based Nova Pro.
Please come out and support the event as we feature some of the top up and coming independent wrestlers that you'll find ANYWHERE and try to raise some money for the Hixson High School Football Program!
