I have some opinions but professional wrestling in Cornelia, GA has had answers to these questions for almost 20 years.
The promotion known as NWA Wildside gave a lot of guys their first taste of television and was a revolving door for some of the biggest names in professional wrestling. WCW developmental was once even housed at Wildside.
Their star pupil is of course AJ Styles from the NWA Wildside years but through several name changes(NWA Anarchy to Anarchy Wrestling to Why We Wrestle and then back to Anarchy Wrestling) the core components of what makes the wrestling at 4246 Level Grove Rd remain.
Creative and promotional forces behind the scenes are still teaching young guys how to work programs, work television, and the importance of everyone working together to tell stories and create magic.
You'll see veterans and established regional stars like Slim J(who has aged like fine wine and may be better than he's ever been and getting out more than ever now!), Seth Delay, Sal Rinuaro, Logan Creed, Stryknyn, Geter, Billy Buck, Kevin Blue, and Jacob Ashworth. You'll also see some of the most exciting up and comers in the Southeast(and beyond) like Ike Cross, AC Mack, Marcus Kross, Griff Garrison, Josey Quinn, and Xander Ramon. There's also extended and one off drop ins from guys like Corey Hollis, Fred Yehi, and even Matt Riddle in the recent past.
Every match means something.
Let me repeat that. Every match means something. In a world of thrown together matches, "dream match" booking, and "whoever shows up" booking - Anarchy Wrestling presents matches that build the competitors, elevate the competition, and eventually culminate into resolutions or additional stories of competition.
Anarchy would not shy away from telling fans and wrestlers that most wrestlers could probably make more money working other events... but there's a consistency to Anarchy, there's a value to working with individuals who are going to show up every two weeks with a team player mentality, and there's a dream to be chased of learning what is needed to make it to the next level.
For a wrestler to be on the Anarchy roster, it means that they're reliable, that they're respectable, and that they have abilities that make them special. It's a wrestler college and an independent wrestling gym. It's a place to figure out what you don't know, network with other competitors who are venturing out, and to maintain a consistent level of working against professionals in matches that are going to mean something.
There are a ton of other great independent promotions throughout the Southeast. Some of them bring in bigger stars and have bigger crowds, But Anarchy Wrestling in Cornelia will always have the legacy, the consistency, the meaning, and the magic.
To check out a show, head to Cornelia, GA on 2nd and 4th Saturdays or for more information check them out on Facebook (Anarchy Wrestling) or you can check out their programming on Fite TV.
