I knew YOU wouldn't be paying for it Quackski! I'm mildly surprised you have interest in seeing it though. I tend to separate pro wrestling from actual sport, though there clearly always has been some interweaving between the two. You're right McGregor is totally doing pro wrestling, that's my beef with this, it's too pro wrestling for sport. I mean the Nevada commission guy saying with a straight face that this isn't about money, and he's impressed with McGregor's power. Huh??? McGregor isn't a boxer, this is a farce. This should not have been sanctioned. If they really wanted to do this McGregor should have boxed a few times, then if he looked good doing it, maybe, and even that's a maybe. They changed rules, bypassed whatever to make this happen, for money. It legit does bother me that this fight is happening. Exposes a lot of people for what they are I think. McGregor is both good and bad for MMA. He's gonna try to get an ownership stake in UFC before it's over. I never said he was all talk, he's a great MMA fighter, he's not a boxer. He's more bullshit than he is talent, but he has enough talent to let his bullshit take him a long ways, especially around greedy and phony folks in power of these organizations. He exploits them masterfully. If he didn't have talent, he couldn't do it, cause they wouldn't take him serious, but they have to. That still doesn't explain why they public would want to see it though. I think the build has been the shits. The Ali thing you referenced, obviously I'm against using racial slurs to sell tickets, but at least that was the goal then. Especially Mayweather, when he says something ignorant it isn't designed to sell a fight, it's just cause he's an ignorant dumbass, one that just happens to be one of the greatest boxers ever, but he's really just a moron. McGregor's outbursts are designed to sell tix. But at the end of the day, the pro wrestling approach obviously works to it seems like about exactly half the public. The other half hates it. I mean look who our President is.....Total pro wrestling.
